The Witch Next Door (Part 2)

Now it just so happened on one very hot and balmy July day that the townsfolk found them self in need Ms. Appleby's expertise. About a month before, Ms. Agatha Sutton had put her quaint home-located about a block from Ms. Appleby's, up for sale and moved to Boca. Her presence was not so sorely missed, as her being one aweful gossip, yet the house being left bare and unoccupied left the village a little uneasy.

Their apprehensions found merit as a few young couples began to view the house and all it's worth. First, a young lawyer and his school teacher wife. They had one on the way and welcomed the small town atmosphere, accept for woods that bordered the back yard-they feared they were to dangerous for the child.

Then there came the artsy couple, no children in tow or on the way for that matter, but a large bushy poodle which they tugged and pulled around town. After a run in at the cafe pertaining to the improper temperature of one simple cup of coffee, they found the town unsuitable and left immediately.

But there was another, one couple in particular that left a sense of foreboding on the minds of the people. Just a couple, not artsy or particular in any way, no children to count for or strange relatives in tow. Just a man and a woman and one very petite cat.

The Witch Next Door (part 1)

The town of Cherry River lay nestled amongst the ancient trees of the New England region. It had hardly been disturbed by outsiders for ages and the towns people had grown quite accustomed to that very fact. They knew that the postman, a one Mr. Winklemen, lived on the corner of Main St and Greenwood Ln. They knew exactly when he delivered the mail and that he liked his cookies with walnuts and no raisins. They knew that every Saturday afternoon the ladies club would hold their tea party in the extravagant garden of the local cafe, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ellowin. They also knew that the men could be found every Friday evening at Dr. Swanson's estate enjoying homemade brandywine and discussing the things that men do such dabble in. And the most important of all, they knew that Ms. Eliza Appleby lived in the last house before the wood and that Ms. Appleby was a witch.

Now, the townsfolk were quite content with this fact, even the doctor in a manner of speaking. When the folks knew what ailed them could not be cured by the simple means of modern day medicine they turned to Ms. Appleby for the answers.

The Introduction

Author: R. Fast / Labels:

I am me.
I am average, a little short maybe, my hair looks red in the sun.
My hands are small as are my feet and my big eyes are a little blue with a caramel flair.
I have high cheek bones or is it muscle? I do not know.
When I smile they make my eyes squint but I really love to do so.

I'm not to thin and not to fat but a bit self conscious to that fact.
In a coastal city I dwell with my love. Two cats and no children to speak of.
I've finished some college, I'm proud of that. Yet I want to continue only for what? I'm really not sure how about that.

I love to read and love to write, I'm addicted to the web and T.V., but only at night.
I like cats, and stars, and flowers, and sun. Bright and happy, 'cause I like to have fun.

I may come off strange to others, a fact. I collect mail order catalogs, talk to much when I'm nervous, I'm almost always in a great mood and can hardly ever be mean to anyone in person.I sometimes speak my mind a little to much, I love to press authority and discover things with my sense of touch.

I've always wished I was important and made a difference some how. To have my name known and some money just now. I wish every day was like the Christmas season, with everyone so nice and kind. So caring and willing to give a little time.

One secret I warn, may it be truth or it fiction. When alone in my house I practice magic with conviction.

Now that you know a little of me. Let's hear about you, a challenge for thee.

I am February

I got this idea from the Freaky Friday #96 post of A Creative Journal. The original poem is about the new year. Here is my version for February. Enjoy.

I am February.

I am love, adoration, affection without end,
I remind the world what's worth living for.

I will whisper sweet nothings in your ear;
softly kissing your neck and leaving an imprint
on your heart.

I am February.

The cold to spur a lovers embrace.
The promise of good yet to come.

I am February.

A time to let the one you love know you care.
